Welcome to Vidyame

Vidyame is a digital platform created to preserve, organize, and share Indic civilization knowledge for present and future generations.

Through Vidyame, users may access texts, translations, commentaries, audio, video, practices, stories, learning pathways, creators, authors, publishers, and communities.

These Terms of Service explain the rules that apply when you use Vidyame’s website, mobile application, creator tools, community features, subscription services, and related products or services.

By using Vidyame, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you should not use Vidyame.

These Terms work together with our Privacy Policy, Copyright & Rights Protection Policy, Community Guidelines, Creator Terms, Subscription Terms, and any other policies or feature-specific terms that may apply.

1. Who May Use Vidyame

You may use Vidyame only if you can form a binding agreement with Vidyame and are not prohibited from using the service under applicable law.

Vidyame may be used by:

  • Individual learners
  • Parents and families
  • Children and teens with appropriate parent or caregiver involvement
  • Creators and authors
  • Curators
  • Publishers
  • Teachers
  • Community leaders
  • Subscribers
  • Ambassadors
  • Organizations or institutions, where authorized

If you use Vidyame on behalf of a company, organization, school, temple, publisher, community, family member, minor, or other legal entity, you represent that you have authority to accept these Terms on their behalf.

Vidyame may require age information, parent consent, or account restrictions for younger users where required by law or platform policy.

2. Your Vidyame Account

Some Vidyame features may require an account.

You are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate account information
  • Keeping your login information secure
  • Maintaining the confidentiality of your password
  • Using a secure email or phone number
  • Updating your account information when it changes
  • Not allowing unauthorized people to use your account
  • Not impersonating another person, creator, institution, community, or publisher

You are responsible for activity that occurs through your account, unless the activity resulted from Vidyame’s own failure to protect the service.

Vidyame may send service-related communications, including account notices, security alerts, subscription updates, policy updates, and administrative messages. Some service communications may not be optional.

3. Privacy

Vidyame’s Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share, retain, and protect information.

By using Vidyame, you understand that Vidyame may collect and use information as described in the Privacy Policy.

Because Vidyame is a learning and community platform, information may relate to account activity, learning interests, language preferences, content history, community participation, family settings, creator activity, subscription activity, and platform security.

Users should review the Privacy Policy carefully.

4. Content on Vidyame

Vidyame may include many types of content, including:

  • Texts
  • Translations
  • Commentaries
  • Articles
  • Audio recordings
  • Video content
  • Short learning series
  • Guided practices
  • Festival explanations
  • Children’s content
  • Community posts
  • Creator and author profiles
  • Publisher content
  • User comments, reviews, notes, and responses

Content may be created by Vidyame, users, creators, authors, curators, publishers, communities, or third parties.

Vidyame does not guarantee that all content is complete, accurate, current, suitable for every user, or appropriate for every tradition, age group, or learning level.

Users should use judgment, consult qualified teachers or professionals where appropriate, and understand that Indic civilization knowledge may include diverse interpretations, lineages, practices, and perspectives.

5. Your Responsibility for Content

You are responsible for the content you create, upload, submit, publish, comment on, share, or otherwise make available through Vidyame.

This includes responsibility for:

  • Accuracy
  • Attribution
  • Copyright and licensing
  • Respectful use of traditional knowledge
  • Compliance with Vidyame policies
  • Compliance with applicable law
  • Avoiding false, misleading, harmful, abusive, or unauthorized content
  • Respecting the dignity of individuals, communities, traditions, and lineages

You should only submit content that you are comfortable sharing according to the visibility settings of the feature you are using.

You represent that you have all rights, permissions, licenses, consents, and authority needed to submit or publish your content on Vidyame.

6. Ownership of Your Content

You retain ownership of content that you create and submit to Vidyame, subject to any agreements, licenses, publisher arrangements, or creator terms that apply.

What you create remains yours, unless you have separately assigned or transferred your rights.

However, by submitting, uploading, posting, publishing, or otherwise making content available on Vidyame, you grant Vidyame a license to use that content as needed to operate, provide, display, distribute, promote, improve, and protect the service.

This license allows Vidyame to:

  • Host your content
  • Display your content
  • Make your content available to users according to your selected settings
  • Format or adapt your content for different devices and features
  • Create previews, thumbnails, excerpts, metadata, or summaries
  • Organize your content into libraries, categories, search results, feeds, or learning paths
  • Recommend your content to users
  • Distribute your content through Vidyame’s website, app, and related services
  • Use your content for safety, copyright, quality, and platform integrity review
  • Preserve attribution and source information
  • Use your content as otherwise allowed by applicable creator, publisher, or subscription agreements

This license is worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free unless otherwise agreed in writing, and continues for as long as needed to provide the service, honor user access, maintain backups, comply with legal obligations, protect rights, resolve disputes, and enforce policies.

For paid, private, restricted, creator-owned, publisher-owned, or subscriber-only content, additional terms may apply.

7. Creator, Author, Curator, and Publisher Responsibilities

Creators, authors, curators, and publishers are central to Vidyame’s mission.

If you submit content as a creator, author, curator, publisher, teacher, institution, or community leader, you agree that:

  • You have the right to submit the content
  • You will provide accurate source and attribution information
  • You will not submit copyrighted material without permission or legal authority
  • You will not misrepresent authorship, lineage, tradition, credentials, or institutional affiliation
  • You will respect traditional knowledge and community sensitivities
  • You will comply with Vidyame’s content, copyright, and community policies
  • You will not submit content that is unlawful, abusive, deceptive, exploitative, or harmful

Vidyame may review, approve, reject, restrict, label, edit for formatting, or remove submitted content according to platform standards, copyright concerns, safety requirements, quality guidelines, or legal obligations.

8. Public Domain and Traditional Knowledge

Many Indic texts and traditions may be ancient or public domain. However, modern translations, commentaries, editions, recordings, performances, images, typesetting, videos, and teaching materials may still be protected by copyright or other rights.

You are responsible for understanding the difference between:

  • Ancient source material
  • Public-domain material
  • Modern editions
  • Modern translations
  • Publisher-owned content
  • Audio or video recordings
  • Performances
  • Images or artwork
  • Scholarly commentary
  • Community or lineage-based knowledge
  • Licensed or restricted content

Vidyame may remove or restrict content if a rights concern is raised or if Vidyame determines that the content may not have been properly authorized.

Vidyame respects copyright, authorship, publisher rights, creator rights, and the rights of communities and institutions that preserve knowledge.

If you believe content on Vidyame infringes your copyright or other legal rights, you may submit a rights protection request through Vidyame’s copyright process.

Vidyame may remove, restrict, disable, or limit access to content when a valid rights concern is raised.

Users whose content is removed may have the opportunity to appeal or provide proof of ownership, permission, license, public-domain status, fair use, or other legal basis.

Repeated infringement or misuse may result in content removal, account restrictions, suspension, or termination.

10. Community Participation

Vidyame may allow users to join, follow, subscribe to, or participate in communities.

Communities may be organized around:

  • Creators
  • Authors
  • Teachers
  • Temples
  • Publishers
  • Regional traditions
  • Study groups
  • Cultural organizations
  • Practices
  • Families
  • Learning interests

When participating in communities, you agree to act respectfully and follow Vidyame’s Community Guidelines.

You may not use Vidyame communities to harass, threaten, exploit, impersonate, mislead, spam, manipulate, or harm others.

Community leaders and administrators may have additional responsibilities, including moderation, member privacy, content quality, and compliance with Vidyame policies.

Vidyame may remove community content, restrict community features, suspend community administrators, or close communities that violate platform rules or applicable law.

11. Children, Teens, and Families

Vidyame may provide content and experiences for children, teens, and families.

Young users require special care. Vidyame may provide age-based settings, parent controls, content restrictions, limited community participation, and other safeguards.

Parents and caregivers are responsible for guiding children’s use of Vidyame and selecting settings appropriate for the child’s age, maturity, family values, and learning goals.

Children and teens may not use features that are not intended for their age group.

Vidyame may restrict or disable certain features for young users, including public profiles, direct messaging, posting, comments, subscriptions, payments, or community participation, where appropriate or legally required.

12. Subscriptions, Memberships, Donations, and Paid Features

Vidyame may offer free access, subscriptions, memberships, donations, premium content, creator subscriptions, paid communities, or other paid features.

Paid features may be subject to additional terms, including:

  • Pricing
  • Billing frequency
  • Renewal terms
  • Cancellation rules
  • Refund policy
  • Trial terms
  • Taxes
  • Payment processor terms
  • Creator revenue or payout terms
  • Subscriber-only content rules

By purchasing or using a paid feature, you agree to the applicable payment and subscription terms.

Unless otherwise stated, subscriptions may renew automatically until canceled. Users are responsible for canceling before renewal if they do not want to continue.

Vidyame may change pricing, features, benefits, or availability of paid services with notice where required.

13. Recommendations and Personalization

Vidyame may recommend content, creators, communities, practices, learning paths, and subscriptions based on user activity, preferences, age settings, language, saved content, learning history, followed communities, and content quality signals.

Recommendations are intended to support learning and discovery.

Vidyame does not guarantee that recommendations will always be accurate, complete, suitable, or aligned with every user’s tradition, belief, or expectation.

Users may be able to manage recommendation preferences, pause or clear certain activity, or remove recommended items where available.

14. AI and Automated Features

Vidyame may use AI or automated systems to support search, recommendations, translation assistance, transliteration, summaries, pronunciation tools, content organization, accessibility, moderation, safety, copyright review, or platform improvement.

AI-powered features may produce errors or incomplete results.

Users should not rely on AI-generated information as a substitute for qualified teachers, scholars, professionals, or authoritative sources where accuracy matters.

Creator-owned, publisher-owned, private, restricted, or paid content may be handled according to applicable creator agreements, licensing terms, and platform settings.

Additional AI terms may apply to certain features.

15. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse Vidyame.

You may not:

  • Violate any applicable law
  • Violate Vidyame’s policies
  • Infringe copyright, trademark, privacy, publicity, or other rights
  • Upload content you do not have permission to use
  • Harass, threaten, abuse, or exploit others
  • Post hateful, violent, sexually exploitative, or unlawful content
  • Impersonate another person, creator, publisher, institution, teacher, lineage, or community
  • Misrepresent credentials, authorship, source, tradition, or affiliation
  • Spam, manipulate, or artificially inflate engagement
  • Scrape, crawl, copy, or extract data without written permission
  • Use bots or automated tools except as permitted by Vidyame
  • Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to access Vidyame’s non-public systems
  • Probe, scan, or test platform vulnerabilities without authorization
  • Bypass security, age, subscription, payment, or access controls
  • Interfere with platform operation
  • Upload malware, viruses, or harmful code
  • Use Vidyame to train external AI systems or datasets without permission, unless expressly allowed
  • Abuse reporting, appeals, copyright claims, or moderation tools
  • Assist others in violating these Terms

Vidyame may take enforcement action for violations.

16. Platform Enforcement

Vidyame may enforce these Terms and related policies at its discretion.

Enforcement actions may include:

  • Warning a user
  • Removing content
  • Restricting content visibility
  • Labeling content
  • Disabling comments or community features
  • Pausing creator publishing privileges
  • Suspending monetization or subscriptions
  • Restricting access to features
  • Suspending an account
  • Terminating an account
  • Removing a community
  • Reporting unlawful activity where appropriate
  • Taking legal action where necessary

Vidyame may also restrict content or accounts where required by law, safety obligations, copyright concerns, legal exposure, platform integrity, or regional requirements.

Users may have appeal rights where Vidyame provides an appeal process or where required by law.

17. Service Changes and Availability

Vidyame is an evolving platform.

We may add, change, limit, suspend, or discontinue features at any time.

We may change:

  • Content categories
  • App or website features
  • Creator tools
  • Community tools
  • Subscription features
  • Recommendation systems
  • AI features
  • User roles
  • Storage limits
  • Access levels
  • Pricing or paid features
  • Platform policies

Vidyame does not guarantee that any feature, content, creator, community, subscription, or service will always remain available.

18. Vidyame’s Rights

Vidyame and its licensors own the platform, software, design, technology, trademarks, logos, brand features, systems, databases, and other proprietary materials that make up the Vidyame service, except for user-submitted content.

These Terms do not give you ownership of Vidyame’s platform, technology, trademarks, brand, or intellectual property.

You may not use Vidyame’s name, logo, branding, design, or proprietary materials without written permission, except as allowed by Vidyame’s brand guidelines or written agreement.

If you provide feedback, suggestions, ideas, or comments about Vidyame, you allow Vidyame to use them without restriction or compensation.

19. Your License to Use Vidyame

Vidyame gives you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the service as permitted by these Terms.

This license is only for using Vidyame in the manner intended by the platform.

You may not sell, transfer, sublicense, copy, modify, reverse engineer, or misuse Vidyame’s software, systems, or services except as allowed by law or written agreement.

Vidyame may include links, integrations, embedded content, payment processors, social login providers, or other third-party services.

Vidyame is not responsible for third-party services, websites, policies, content, or practices.

Use of third-party services may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

Users should review third-party terms before using those services.

21. Disclaimers

Vidyame is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vidyame disclaims warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, availability, reliability, security, or uninterrupted operation.

Vidyame does not guarantee that:

  • The service will always be available
  • The service will be error-free
  • Content will always be accurate or complete
  • Recommendations will always be suitable
  • User content will always be preserved
  • Communities will always remain active
  • Creator content will always be available
  • AI-generated features will always be correct
  • The platform will meet every user’s expectations

Users access and use Vidyame at their own risk.

Vidyame may include content related to philosophy, history, culture, spiritual practice, yoga, meditation, Ayurveda, rituals, traditions, food, lifestyle, and family practices.

Such content is provided for educational and informational purposes.

It is not a substitute for professional medical, legal, financial, psychological, religious, ritual, or other qualified advice.

Users should consult qualified professionals, teachers, acharyas, practitioners, or advisors where appropriate.

Vidyame does not guarantee that any practice, interpretation, ritual, teaching, or recommendation is suitable for every person, family, lineage, tradition, or circumstance.

23. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vidyame, its owners, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, partners, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary damages.

This includes damages related to:

  • Loss of data
  • Loss of content
  • Loss of revenue
  • Loss of profits
  • Loss of goodwill
  • Service interruption
  • Unauthorized access
  • Content errors
  • User conduct
  • Community disputes
  • Subscription issues
  • Creator disputes
  • Third-party services
  • AI-generated errors
  • Recommendations
  • Platform changes

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Vidyame’s total liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed the greater of:

  • The amount you paid Vidyame for the service giving rise to the claim during the six months before the claim, or
  • $100 USD

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some limitations may not apply to you.

24. Indemnity

To the extent permitted by law, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Vidyame, its owners, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, partners, licensors, and service providers from claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from:

  • Your use of Vidyame
  • Your content
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your violation of law
  • Your violation of another person’s rights
  • Your copyright or licensing violations
  • Your community activity
  • Your creator, author, curator, publisher, or administrator activity
  • Your misuse of the platform

25. Ending Your Use of Vidyame

You may stop using Vidyame at any time.

You may be able to deactivate or delete your account through account settings or by contacting Vidyame.

Vidyame may suspend or terminate your account, restrict features, remove content, or stop providing all or part of the service if:

  • You violate these Terms
  • You violate Vidyame policies
  • You create legal, safety, security, or platform integrity risk
  • You infringe rights
  • You misuse the service
  • Your account is inactive for an extended period
  • Vidyame is required to do so by law
  • Vidyame discontinues a feature or service

Certain provisions of these Terms will continue after your account is closed, including provisions related to content licenses, rights protection, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.

26. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, United States, without regard to conflict of law rules.

Any disputes related to Vidyame or these Terms will be handled in the courts or dispute resolution forums serving Rochester, Oakland County, Michigan, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

Vidyame may offer internal complaint, appeal, or dispute resolution processes for certain enforcement, copyright, subscription, or account issues.

Additional dispute resolution terms may be added before publication.

27. Changes to These Terms

Vidyame may update these Terms from time to time as the platform grows, laws change, or new features are introduced.

If changes are material, Vidyame will aim to provide notice before the updated Terms take effect.

The most current version of these Terms will govern your use of Vidyame.

Continued use of Vidyame after updated Terms become effective means you accept the updated Terms, where permitted by law.
